THE FRONTIER: POETRY AND PROSE
Crossing back and forth over the border of poetry and prose this book brings fresh perspective to the big questions of human life. Based in memorable observations of the natural world it also brings into sharp focus the doings of the everyday world about us. In its brief space it defines the vast frontier between the preoccupations of our contemporary culture and the possibility of living an authentic life.

WINTER VISION was published in September 2011.
“Lights fills his poetry as light magically fills the world … his poetry allows a revealing into the good parts of the human condition that might otherwise be overlooked as common … the spiritual is made visual with words.”
—Michael Basinski, Curator
The Poetry Collection, University at Buffalo
“Like all the best nature poetry, Robert M. Giannetti’s Winter Vision has as much to do with interior space as with exterior. In Giannetti’s verse, the natural world is a threshold, a vast one to be sure, yet with even greater spaces behind. In those spaces, the poet explores history, both universal and personal, and in the process creates a sustaining vision of the perceived world as a spiritual continuum, from the cave painters of Lascaux to the poet himself. Like the composer Jean Sibelius - who spoke of the beauty he saw in the world as both “nature mysticism and life’s Angst” - Giannetti, in his often musical verse, embraces this cruel yet magnificent paradox.”
—Lee Passarella
Author of The Geometry of Loneliness
and Swallowed Up in Victory
Senior Literary Editor, Atlanta Review
“Giannetti digs deeply into the essence, the core of things, as he tries to come to terms with the basic questions of our existence. Constantly seeking reconciliation with nature, he achieves amazing effects by combining in his lyricism the delight and admiration of natural beauty with primeval eschatological realizations. He is an American, but primarily a citizen of a planet orbiting in a larger universe.”
—Darius Lebioda, Editor of Temat
Polish Periodical of Arts and Letters

Robert M Giannetti’s first book of poetry, DRAWN BY THE CREEK, originally published in 2003, was reprinted in September 2011. It has since received international recognition.
Translated into Polish and published in Temat, a Polish periodical of arts and letters, Giannetti’s work was featured in a lengthy critical essay by the journal’s editor, Dariusz Lebioda. “It is profoundly existential poetry,” says Lebioda, “its many beautiful nuances and lyrical rhythms are charged with constant fascination, demonstrating above all a belief in everyday wonders.
In 2009, Giannetti was the only American honored with an invitation to the 32nd November of Poetry, an international festival in Poznan, Poland, where with other honorees from Europe and Asia, he gave a series of poetry readings and lectures in academic and community settings. Giannetti was again invited to the November of Poetry Festival in 2011 in conjunction with the U.S. publication of his new book, Winter Vision (Cashes Valley Publishing) and the release of a bilingual edition in Poland.
